USS Gambier Bay, Halinski, 1:200
Hi friends,
I built this model in 2005. Railings are partly laser cuts, partly photo-etched. The railing of the stern gun, radar antenna and the meshes, where the pontons are fixed are self-etched. I didn`t build all planes included! The model comes along with ORP Krakowiak, a polish Hunt II destroyer. Have a nice weekend Hans Gerd Last edited by docrox; 10-20-2007 at 03:42 AM. |

Very beautiful! I have this kit and was deterred by the number of details and parts. How long did this take you to build?

Hi CMDRTED, took me four months to build the ship.
@Don, the planes are part of the model sheets. Hans Gerd |

This is fantastic! It inspires me to get a copy and hold it for the future. I really like the little planes - superb job on those!

Excellent work, Hans. I have the Military Model version that is next in the queue behind the light cruiser Oakland. The Gambier Bay and her escort carrier sisters are a fascinating study.
How did you mold the canopies on the aircraft? |

Hi Hueydriver,
the canopy frames are photo-etched, the gaps filled with Crystal Clear. Regards Hans Gerd |
