Awesome work, Barry. I know how difficult it can get to lay out a deck plan. You've managed a great project here! From one ship designer to another, it's bloody inspiring! Thanks!

Thank you birder , max and lancer.

John of course you helped the basic deck is a modifcation of Tarawa and the other tricks I picked up from you. I did not realise how big a job Tarawa was until this week and Enterprise is much, much simpler. I think I shall give the oil stains a miss and let her come out of the dockyard instead. I might do it for laughs later. I did find out how to create layers for oil etc so a good time was had by all. From a distance the mistakes don't show that much I hope.

Just in case anyone is interested the deck is a 1/4" too wide for the standard paper so I shall split it along the 3 lifts where there will be planes, trucks etc to hide the join.

My thanks to EIB for checking it for me, took me ages to work out such a simple split.

yes the spliting at the lifts would seem a good idea. not sure where they have them on the other aircraft carrier kits out there to many people build them to well and cover the joins just to good for me to figure that out

No problem Barry. Glad I could be of some help. The details look great. I'm thinking your deck would make a good base diorama for some navy war birds. Yes, it looks that good at scale, and I'll bet it looks just as good enlarged.

First attempt at laying up the deck

First question does it fit. Looks like there is a chance. I will try joining it with selotape for openers. Then there all the deck beams to be glued on.
