Glad to discover that not all bears hibernate for the winter. :-)

Looking forward to this next French pre-dreadnought treat!

Hope all is going well for you, Carl!

I appreciate hearing from the 10 of you that commented. It is nice to hearr from all of you and particularly from a new voice - Dennis (Hambone).

Hopefully I am beyond the slow part of the design process and things will continue to move forward.

I attached the decks forward and aft and then wrapped the upper hull sides. I will next spend time on trying to build the spar deck walls with the casemate guns (rotating, I hope) within them. The other things on tap are skinning the lower hull and proto fitting the front structure wall with internal bits.

Carl

I'm actually glad you're going 1/250th as most of my collection from this era is that scale. It looks like should be simple enough to make a waterline model rather than full hull.

The decks look incredible! It's nice to see this taking shape in paper.

Interesting, I did not realize her decks were all linoleum. Wonder what the captain thought about that?

Look really great. I love ships of this era. You build looks true and straight, like all your work does.

Your work on the color scheme is excellent. The shades look quite appealing in these images. Also, your hard work on the tumblehome has paid off.
Regards,
Mike

Hi, Carl! I'm busy building in wood again, but I'm checking in at PM from time to time. Great to see you starting another fantastic pre-dreadnought -- she's sure to be another thing of beauty.

Cheers!

As Fred and Mike noted, the black hull, red linoleum deck, and impressive tumblehome make for a very distinctive and pugnacious appearance.

Not only aesthetic color scheme but exquisite curvature on the upper hull is worthy of admiration
