Enjoy - The second part #2 (the rectangle) should be labelled #9 oops.
As for the million bucks, I mailed the cheque last week, you should have it by now.

Here is a view of the hull bottom. It should explain the dark area Greg asked about earlier. It was just for alignment purposes. Just need to attach the turret and finish the stand then it will be fini. Almost time to get back to the BK-1124.

You are welcome. One of these days I'd like to build a detailed naval gun. Not a cannon I did one of those already but a battleship or cruiser main gun turret. Its on the never ending list.

I don't know what it is about the U.S.S. Monitor. I have always been awed by her since I was a child. You have a very nice model, the Guns are excellent. Don't take her out in heavy seas though, she may flounder.

Your model brings back memories....Back in my junior year of high school I did a cutaway model of the Monitor for my U.S. History class. All I remember of the build then was that I made the lower hull out of plexi and the engine came from an old Tamaiya RC Hunting Tiger kit.

On a side note I found it interesting that the guns on the Union ironclads were more powerful than the ones on the Confederate, but the captains would only fire half charges for fear of them blowing up. That is until one union commander go tired of a stalemate and ordered a full charge which blew through the Confederate hull.
