Effort yes, accuracy - not. It could be better, but I'm only average modeler.

I'll have to try it myself too. With this internal structure, you could even make a detailed interior, if that was published at all. probably not, secret stuff...
This method is very effective, when working with regular shapes, like ship's hull. Detailed interior is only a question of references (and amount of free time) - some of them are available. Look at this:

I did some improvements in construction an corrected few faults.
I'm going to release B-808 by ecard-shop, and I think that under russian flag, will be more interesting for paper-modelers community than ORP Orzel (PLN).
Also, I'm going to make some upgrade kit/mod which will probably include pump-jet propulsion (SSK "Alrosa" of Russian Black Sea Fleet), and Sindhughosh class of Indian Navy (same painting but different hull number)

Ah, I see. Good ideas.

Here are some pictures of the Alrosa. You've probably already seen them, but other folks may be interested in seeing that pump jet.

Deck continued.

Last element was too difficult to glue in one piece. I decided to cut it along in a half and glue separately. The main problem was to get proper shape of the opening for the diving planes - internal support was neccesary (white piece of cardboard visible in the opening), it will be removed after completion:

Right half looks good. Joint between two halves will be hidden under the sail, so it will not affect the final look.

Beautiful looking model, with one of the best hulls I've seen.

I'm struggling enough with my own build to appreciate the craftsmanship that goes into achieving a finish as good as yours.

Watching w/interest. Your technique for the hull construction is interesting. I have several Russian Fleet surface vessels, but no sub. Let me see if I understand the photos, this was a jet powered sub, wow. I never even heard of such a vessel, but again I do not follow sub development. Am I wrong to say, this propulsion system is like a giant jet ski! Thanks for sharing and thanks guys for all the photos, get ref material.:DRick

Seawolf and Astute class SSNs, Vanguard class SSBN are also powered by pumpjets.
You are right, it's just oversized jet-ski:D

Oh man that is just cool. I am curious though, I know very little about sonar, but does it not catch the sound of the prop and since this thing does not have a prop, well is she truly a silent runner!!!!! I will watch out for this one, will add to collection of Russian vessels. You are doing a wonderful job and look forward to more. :DRick
