Sadly the Olympia is falling down, it is old and neglected. Trees grow through the decking.
An Olympia model would be nice.
I miss Olympia, it is no longer available :(.
I have attached pictures of Olympia which might inspire a designer. It is still very beautiful to see at south end of Puget Sound.

I like the finished Pelayo model very much! Great build.

(Obviously you did not have too much Olympia on board when you made it.)

John,

I think that MMM was asking about the USS Olympia

That would make a great model too, particularly if its lockers were filled with little cases of Olympia.:D

That's quite a good job you did on her (Pelayo)!
I am personnally intrigued by ships of this time and class, as we have one sitting not 4 miles from me - The USS Olympia - of the Spanish American war. There's an interesting situation developing in the immediate moment, in that our (Philadelphia, Pa., US) historic seaport is hard pressed to afford her necessary repairs and maintenance, and there is apparantly a group who wish to purchase her and take her to the opposite coast (San Francisco). If there's any interest, I'll post developmants here.

I do not know how this one got by me, but what tha. Way cool ship, love the period design, your build is just wonderful and the building of the hull into a skin to apply to the hull, what a neat techinque, how about a lesson on this? I for one am impressed with your skills of this most excellent vessel. And the finished model is a work of love and art. Thanks for sharing this build.
