Hunt Type 2 HNoMS Arendal (formerly HMS Badsworth L03) escort destroyer 1945, pre-final-gluing at (prototype) 1:371 ( :-) ) scale. Building down at 1:700 or even 1:1200 for wargaming would would have been MUCH faster/easier.

Considering I had already designed the Hunt Type 1, this has taken a LONG time. Of course, I did do coloration this time. Painting digitally is FAR easier, cleaner, and less toxic than with enamel paints.

Thank you, Don. And here is as much as I'm going to do on her for now ... unless she is to be finished for display which is not planned at this point. .She *is* test-built now.

Note the latewar radar column astern of the pompom - you can see the unconstructed searchlight platform in the foreground - and the latewar distance-misleading camouflage panel along the hull. This is as she was in May 1945, when she arrived in liberated Norway.

Wow! The close angle parallax really distorts the turrets', etc. alignment. They really are square, though.

MUST get back to work on the book ... after having defeated bladder cancer and surviving my first and hopefully last heart attack.

My free models are still up on www.CoatneyHistory.com and Lou Coatney: Home Page ... as long as *I* last, guys.

Thank you, Sir. I've got to stop designing wargames and get back to model warships ... and complete my book.

My G3 - hacked together from two Nelson/Rodneys from your ships is missing some lifeboats. Any suggestions as to where I might find some? And I am delighted you seem to be beating the Big C!!!!!

Dear Lou:
I am thankful that you are back and winning your battles.
Looking forward for your book, and if you consider a war wining LST it would be very nice.
Remember: Love Your Neighbor as Yourself, and today the emphasis is on yourself.
Also, priorities: You, your family and the rest.
Happy designing, modeling, writing and publishing.
Pablo
