As to more free models, I'm not sure, JU52. I used to sell the cardstock sheets of my ships - 4 per destroyer class, 2 per cruiser class - but that was labor-intensive and they were vulnerable to bending and/or mutilation en route.

And I do want and need some compensation for my work.

Might I suggest that you simply transfer the drawings to PDF files, and make them available as downloads? I'm sure that Chris Gutzmer over at Ecardmodels would be happy to serve as a retail outlet.

It's really very easy to translate a drawing to a PDF. All you have to do is make sure that your parts are the right scale, and then using any one of a dozen PDF converters, print them to PDF, and voila! I'd be more than happy to help you find the best method for this, and share more details of my own method, if you're interested.

Well, my designing just STOPPED, last night, when my ModelCAD 3000 program stopped working ... again. The pull down menus in the Info Box won't pull down, so I can change the line type, line scale, etc.

I'll be more specific and ask if anyone else on Papermodelers uses ModelCAD, over under Designers Corner/Software.

ANY help would be appreciated.

Lou, I really hope you get your software issues resolved quickly and painlessly... I know how it is to lose a program you rely on, that feeling of helplessness... As a last resort, might you try whatever company it came from for tech support? I'm not the least bit familiar with it, but if they published it, they ought to help you fix it. As bad as it sounds, you might need to reinstall it and start from scratch, after a good registry cleaning.

Man, I really hope you get up and running.

Upperspace is now the company selling DesignCAD and ModelCAD, Lance, and they don't provide support.

I did e-mail their former support address, but it bounced too.

Now I find out IMSI Design is responsible for DesignCAD, and its troubleshooting webpage keeps saying I haven't filled out required info, which I have.

I've sent a request directly to [email protected] We'll see if that does any good.

ModelCAD is a great little program ... if it works.
