Happy tenth to PaperModelers, and here's to another ten more.

This couldn't happen without the help of the moderators and those that make this site happen, and to them, a big thank you.

Congratulations on 10 years of work!

It feels great to be part of this Community.
Im happy that Ive been in this forum for a long time. Not since the beginning,
but its already 7 years since I re-entered the paper hobby and found this nice place
that feels like home.

The forum has matured and grown a lot. Thanks a lot to the administrators,
moderators and facilitators who take the time to keep this place running.
Their almost invisible but valuable labor is really something to be commended.

Also, this forum wouldnt be the same with the many nice and interesting people
who contribute constantly showing their models. I could say I have learned a little bit
from many of them. It is really nice to see so many pictures of WIPs and finished models; theyre all inspiring.

Every person who shares a new technique or trick helps to make this hobby bigger and stronger.
Is great that we have so many creative modelers sharing here.

It has also been a good thing to see the many designers that we have in the forum.
I will not name them because I risk to leave someone out of the list.
But watching their different ways to approach their subjects, how they evolve their designs,
and how they kindly share their work with the public (whether freely or as paid kits)
is also something to be happy about.

In this years we have seen many people come and go.
Some members just post a couple of times and disappear,
others come back regularly. Weve lost several members to illnesses,
but we have also
welcomed many new modelers. It all makes of this community a very dynamic and strong one.

Personally, Im very happy to have made friends with people of this forum from many
parts of the globe. It has served to enrich my life and to expand my vision in several fields.

As for ways of celebrating, we have a whole year to enjoy the 10 years!!!!!

I dare to suggest a couple of things to celebrate. Some may be more feasible than others,
and theyre just ideas that may be developed further:

Then and now:
This consist in showing how your skills have improved over the years.
The idea is to show a photo of your oldest paper model (or the older you have photos of)
and build that kit again this year, to compare them.

The POTW
Changing the POTW to a banner commemorating the 10th anniversary would also be great.
Since it is the first thing many (new) members see, that attracts a lot of attention.
Maybe the banner could include photos of the previous model of the year mentions.

Other idea:
A build group of free downloads only from PM. People can enter with any of the available
models from the download section of this forum. Open for the whole year of celebration.
The idea is to showcase the kits from our download section. It doesnt matter if they built it
years ago or if it is a fresh build.

Another idea:
Involve some of the in-house designers to create or adapt kits with graphics about the 10th anniversary,
but somehow also customizable. People will download and build them their own way.

If sponsors can be found, a contest lasting several months would be great
so that many people have time to participate. Also depending on sponsorship,
prices could be given in the special group builds celebrating the 10th anniversary.

Thanks to all the people who have made this forum possible.
I expect to see it grow even more and more in the following years.

If any of the designers here on the forum would like to create an anniversary banner, maybe we can rotate them each time you refresh the portal/forum

Any design is welcome, and representative of the forum, so if you design aircraft, then an aircraft banner, if you do vehicles, one with vehicles, and so on down the list.
I hope we can create a carousel of banner images, and have it rotate each time you refresh or visit the forum.

Big congrats to all of the paper modelers crew for running this forum from your partner kartonbau.de - Kartonmodellbau, Kartonmodelle, Cardmodels, Cardmodeling
It is always a pleasure to see our hobby growing. So, lets go for the next 10 years, there are so many models unbuild yet.

Best wishes

Talking A little something to celebrate 10 years

Ten years, wow!

I had this ready for test building, but wireandpaper isn't done yet. It's just a straight rescale and recolor of Bruno Vanhecke's (with permission) 1:300 Eastern Airlines Lockheed L188 Electra, to Air Manila International livery in 1:100. It should build OK, except for color boundary misalignments - let me know.

I've more recolors waiting for test builders, check out my thread in the Recolors sub-board.

Here's to another 10 years, hope I can still be a part of that!
