Dear All;

To me, the reduced one looks better. Not as overlapping crowded.
Nice work!

It's hard to choose, but if forced to decide I'd go for the larger figures. I like their boldness.

I guess you will like this busy one!
It has a little bit of fresh white glue at the corners but will be ready for Christmas!

I am a volunteer at a National Trust property and I get roped in to make decorations for the house

Here's one - few more may follow;-)

The house is open until 6 in the evening so night lights are useful. The ones I made are made of thin card and wrapped round a tube that is removed when the glue is dry. To make the pattern I cut the card to A4 and copy the shape using my printer. Battery night lights are put inside.

Cheers

Mike

Smaller one is much much nicer. More in a way and enough space for your eye to "wander" around a bit when looking at it!

My Christmas projects

Hi all,
First time posting photos here, this was a project that I began after last Christmas..

The glass dome and base was part of a Christmas tree ornament.

The house and animals are made with paper and super glue with baking soda for shaping and strengthening purposes. I have left a pushpin for size reference.

The tree is made of a wire armature trunk with plastic rope strands and saw dust flocking.

P.S. Later I will also post pictures of the Nativity Diorama Cave which is in progress ...

Wishing all a Very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays in advance.

Tony.

Very nice project Wavepulsar!!!
I do admire miniatures, its in my nature.

And Mike, very good idea for the lights.

As for big or small figures for the Nativity, I prefer the smaller, but La Patrona (my wife) prefers the larger figures. And she has a list of people she whishes me to do some Nativities (and my planes and ships????).

ps: and thank you Rick for this thread.

Back in 2017, I did a Christmas Village redesigned from one on Disney Spoonful. Scaled the figures from several sets to fit in with each other, and turned the buildings into buildings instead of just glorified false-fronts.

Designed it so that everything fits in the main building for the bulk of the year.

I'll be setting it up again this weekend at my folks' house

Also will set up AirDave's tree, Holiday Belle and an angel

Santa's Village

A little more than a year ago I did Santas Village from Paper Toys:
https://www.papertoys.com/santas-house.htm

Here you are with land and air support, unfortunately I cant find one of the buildings.

The original build is here in a visit by the Icebreaker Lenin:
Encounter at the North Pole

ps: I always wonder how the village is sustainable on the top of the Arctic Ocean.
