Christmas Decoration Event

Hi all,

To kick off the Christmas season, I am proposing a month long event, build anything Christmas related.

It can be funny, or serious, or whatever you are feeling.

You can put it in your tree, or hang it up in your house.

But we want to see all the various types of models.

So from now, to Christmas Eve, December 24, build and show something Christmas

Rick

This is a bit of a cheat - I made these for last christmas.

I already had a pad of postcard size patterns and found instructions on Google for making trees.

I am a room guide in a local National Trust property and the house is "made over" for Christmas.

One item is a kids "spotting trail" Kids don't like wandering around old houses and the trail gives them something to do.

They had to look out for small Christmas trees and based on the number of rooms, I made 15plus trees. The picture was sent to the house manager for approval and I added myself as a guide to the height of the trees. In fact the trees are about 3 inches tall.

One of the rooms had a musical theme and the tree was decorated with musical bits in the second picture there are more trees, this time made of music - I tried a few compositions and found that Mozart's music looked the best - the Snow flakes and "star" are also mine

Cheers

Mike,

Great builds, and a cool idea of a Christmas treasure hunt.

You can post builds from previous years in this thread, but I am looking for current builds in the sub forum >>> http://www.papermodelers.com/forum/c...as-decorating/

I am sorry, I should have included that caveat in the original post.

Rick

Hi Rick,

Just read about this years builds. Was going to add some of the stuff from years past.

Not sure if I will be adding yet to this year. If I do; will show what is added to my growing display. Really need a Reindeer, the one I have is really complicated to build. Hoping the Cannon Site has something easier this year.

Might use some of this fancy high dollar photo paper I have for a cool looking, simple, easy, colorful project.

At present, tied up with P26 Peashooter project.

@Airdave-are you offering anything on your site or here for download this year?

Mike

Mike,

You can post pictures of previous years here in this thread, might inspire someone to add to their decorations for this year

I’m in this sounds like fun. Now only to decide how much effort I put into these re-colors.
