I am very sorry to hear this. It is an unexpected and painful news. He was a very kind and intelligent person. A gentleman who will be missed.
Very very sad to learn of his passing. It is hard to believe as he just had his birthday last week. The forum loses a great member. My condolences to his family and friends. I can only imagine what they must be feeling.

Just came back from work and was shocked to read this as headline message. I once had some e-mail correspondence with Rick, or should I say Hendrik, and learned about his Dutch roots. It was funny to converse with him in “Nederlands”. He was a great guy and always very helpful. Thanks man, I wish you all the best up there in heaven. I hope they have paper modeling, otherwise you’ll be having a hard time… My condoleances to Rick’s family and friends.

Oh, man, this is just terrible. Didn't really know him well, just that when I was having problems with doing something on the forum he was always helpful. For me, he was the face of the forum.

This bites. Big time.
Rick was a phenomenal leader on this forum, both actively and behind the scenes. I was very fortunate to meet him in person at two IPMC annual meetings here in Virginia (Ray Smith made sure we met) and found him to be such a warm, friendly, and knowledgeable person. I was looking forward to hopefully seeing him this year and hearing about his adaptation to life in Texas. Open Roads, my friend. I'm glad to have known you! Bart |
