Photoshop for me too.

Can't run PS in iPad. If it could( and it couldn't). That would be the only reason I would buy it. Beside it can't run PS, it can't do few other thing too. iPad is a paperweight IMOP. Just go google the reviews and you see. Let hope the next Gen they will get it right. At the very least, let it run PS, and put a USB drive in that thing so people can run their CD/DVD or external hard drive or something.

For what its worth......... I started re-coloring using PhotoShop, but InkScape has proven to be an asset also.

I use Inkscape almost exclusively.

One thing though -- Inkscape tends to bog down when you start using edge blending (feathering?).

For all-vector art, I've been trying to learn Inkscape.
My recommendation to you (do what I say not what I do) would be to start out with GIMP and Inkscape.
Wow- I totally agree with 100% of what you said here.
well technically I started paintshop pro with version2. instead of paying for it they asked you to buy and read a copy of a particular book (which I did) cant recall the book though, something anarchistic as I recall..

But GIMP & Inkscape is the way to go...
I am endeavoring to learn both and my next Micromodel with be made with both.

If you purchase the Photoshop/Illustrator and Acrobat set, you will spend a little more but it will cost a lot less.

I got my PH CS 3 full retail version in ebay for under $400. I'm would guess CS 3 will be a lot less now with CS4, CS5 and CS8(?) out for so long.
