.rar files

Can any one explain what .rar files are and what kind of software you need to open them. I run a MAC laptop thanks for any help.

Google "winrar". There are many different sources for free downloads of the software you need to open .rar files.

.rar files are compacted files similar to .zip , just a different, and in my opinion, a more efficient method of compacting.

Google ".rar mac" that will give you a wide choice of free downloads.

Yes, the system DOES work on a Mac. I regularly send photos from a PC to a Mac this way.

OK got that was able to download and decompress file but now it still can't open it because it's a .pdo file what the heck is that and how do I open it on a Mac? ugh, thanks if you can help.

to view PDOs you must first download pepakura viewer. Pepakura Designer

not sure is pepakura viewer etc even works on a mac,.. you best bet is to change it to a PDF on a PC,.. then bring it over,.. or get a friend with the viewer to convert it for you,..

Duditz, you can't open pdo on a mac. This is always a sore point with me that folks won't take the smallest amount of time to convert to pdf. No excuse really.

Yeah um.... I am raising the white flag on this. I forgot we have an older Dell laptop so I downloaded an .rar decompressor and Paperkura and all right I am off, right? Wrong... the first file I downloaded from Paper-reaplika, a good site right? (Disclaimer: I am sure Paper-replika is a good site it's just me I am sure)Infected the laptop I am jinxed thought I would have some fun with a cool model I found, nope! I give I better stick to pre-printed models LOL
