Yes, exactly. I built a plotter that uses gcode produced from Inkscape svg files. Inkscape and printer drivers are smart enough to only print the page in the "page" area. The export and gcode writers send out the whole thing and have no idea of page size. It just centers all of the line information on itself and plots that data. So I now copy and paste the parts from a page size area of the big drawing into each of their own page sized svg files. Page sized, so I know what I selected would print on a single US letter page.
I use only the outline and tabs. No textures or fold lines on my exports. I paint the finishes on all of my models. I mean, if textures stand in the way or something... Here is the plotter in action: http://www.papermodelers.com/forum/573237-post17.html Thanks!

That's a cool project. Single page per file shouldn't be hard to add, but I need to support page sizes for svg's too (everything is A4 iirc. Also, textures don't matter - it's all or nothing case). Also, do you prefer Linux or Windows?

I'm using windows 10 for my Pepakura and Inskscape work.
This really has no bearing on PDOTools, I don't think, but I have to use Inkscape .48 instead .92 because the gcode export extension does not work in .92. I use a linux laptop to run the plotter, but I can't for the life of me, find out how to get Inkscape .48 installed. Every time I try a suggested method of "sudo apt get" it always installs the latest version. I even tried compiling an earlier version with the source code, but I ran into so many depencies I couldn't get all of them compiled and installed either. It's definitely above my pay grade But I suppose all that doesn't matter because I do the Pepakura work from my Windows machine anyway. And hey, thanks for checking in to this for me, I'm stoked about it!

What extension do you use for gcode export and what error does it give? Maybe I can take a look at it too.
As for older versions on linux - I wouldn't bother unless you have a lot of time to spend. Probably the easiest way is to get an old version of the distro you're using (2 years or older perhaps), it'll likely have the old Inkscape as well. |

Here is the extension information:
https://github.com/martymcguire/inkscape-unicorn Yeah, I see that about compiling the older version. I had not thought of getting an older distro of unix. If you can't see anything irregular in the extension info, I may give that a try. Thanks again!

Sorry to keep you waiting, I have been working on some rendering quality improvements for the next version. I'll try to prepare it for you next week.

Hey, I just ran across a pdo file that PDO Tools would not export all of the pieces in the file. Would you care to have a look? I tried using both a Pep v 3 pdo and a ver 4. Both are missing the same two pieces when I make the svg.
