In fact I had tried with some files provided as an example to Tamasoft: Prism, Pyramid and truncated Polygons that are not opened with version 4. Orazio.

The reason I'm tagging onto Pa Horace's post is that I notice from his pictures that he has also successfully installed Viewer 4. I've tried to get the new viewer, but I just keep getting forwarded to the Designer 4 page.

Johnny, there is a note with the Designer 4 download that states the viewer is included.

The save and export functions are activated by entering a keycode. I think this may be pertinent. I'm still using the free version of Designer, so I ain't got a keycode. Time to let some moths out the wallet I guess. I've been meaning to cough up for a while now, but as of yet I've not latched onto a teacher to show me how to use it. being self taught by trial and (lots of) errors, I'm fairly competent with Viewer 3, but there's lots of avenues I'm still not so sure of.

JohnM,
the executable 'pepakura viewer 4' you find by default in the 'pepakura4en' folder. In the sub-folder: 'viewer'. With the right mouse button you send it with the option 'Enter to Start'. I hope I have made clear, my English is not very good. Orazio.

Today, I have downloaded a new pdo that won't open in PV3 or PD3 but it will open in PD4. Obviously I haven't been able to try it in PV4. The plot thickens.

In the Local Disk where the Windows 10 system is installed.
Assuming your system is Windows. In the folder: 'Programs (x86)' you can find the 'tamasoftware' folder. Opening the 'tamasoftware' folder you can find: see image; inside the folder: 'viewer', find the executable 'vewer'. see image. Orazio

Sorted! By tracing the PV3 and PD3 shortcuts back to their source file I found the 'Tamasoft' folder containing the required folder. So I now have desktop short cuts to PV3, PV4, PD3 and PD4. Just need to pin the earlier apps onto tiles now.
I've tested that 'New' pdo, and yes it does open OK in PV4. This Old/new anomaly could get a little confusing for a while methinks. I think the confusion here might have arisen because PD3 and PV3 were installed under Win 9 and were carried over automatically when I upgraded to Win10. Installing PD4 directly from the download, it seems to have missed the Tamasoft folder and installed directly into Win Apps.

Version 4 is installed independently by version 3 which is not removed. To pin on the tiles simply: 1 - click (right-click) on the app shortcut on the desktop (red arrow). 2 - in the drop-down menu, click 'add to Start' (blue arrow) or 'remove to start'. see illustration: ... and everything is done Orazio
