That's something no-one mentioned before.

And it actually is a PITA.

If you don't have a great deal of memory, it is better to forget about Chrome.

At my previous workplace they had Chrome, and did not use any other browser
just because they had all synchronized with it (Google Drive, contacts, Google Plus,
their Android phones, and some other accounts/services). The PC hey used was not exactly
last generation. But a rather old (about 4 years) computer with all RAM slots used at full capacity.

The RAM usage was absurd and slowed everything else.

You could not even open Word and Excel at the same time with Chrome.
Well, you "could", but everything was 10X slower.

And if you were watching something on Youtube chances were you'd get a frozen PC after a few minutes.

I installed a portable version of Firefox for my personal use, and avoided using Chrome except when I was forced to.
The computer worked like a charm. RAM usage was less than 50% compared to using Chrome in that particular PC.

This images I found on the web summarize everything:

If Chrome doesn't work, go for either Firefox or Opera.

I've been using Chrome for some years now and I've never even thought of using another one. Here's a browser ranking that might interest you.
