Inkscape gradient questions...
Has anyone else noticed that gradients printed directly from Inkscape are often not very gradual? It's almost as if they are too dark, too intense. But, if I save my document as a *.pdf (and rasterize the gradient when doing so) then the gradients print out closer to what I see on screen.
The downside to saving as *.pdf, though, appears that fine details lose some fidelity. They are not as crisp and clean as when printing directly from the SVG vector format. Could this be a printer driver issue? An Inkscape application issue? A PDF conversion issue? All I can find on-line about gradients in Inkscape is how to create and manipulate them. Nothing on how to print them. TIA, --jeff |

Color management/profiles in Inkscape and your pdf viewer can be different and it would influence most of the colors. But why do you rasterize the gradient when exporting in the first place?
Are the fine details behind any gradient by any chance? What PDF viewer? Also, small example to reproduce the issue would help a lot. |
