Win 10 Help Needed

I have an HP laptop that has a corrupted master boot record. It is stuck in a loop on startup at the screen that says "Preparing Automatic Repair". I have removed the hard drive and attached it as an external "slave" drive to my other laptop which is a Dell XPS running Win 7. I have successfully recovered the data using this method. Now I need to either fix the MBR or reformat the disk and rebuild it starting with the operating system and then of course all the required drivers, applications and anything else needed to get it back to normal functions.

Of course if I can rebuild the MBR, that would be the easiest and fasted method.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Curt

Do you have an emergency boot disk?
That and a back up plus a system image can be used to have the computer restored to just like it was before the problem.

I had a hard drive go bad on a Win 7 machine so the hard drive was replaced and the machine was restored to what it was like the day before it finally went TU using those resources listed above.

I do a back up every day that includes a system image. All stored on an external drive.
