Disassembling FSX Steam Models?

Hi folks,

is there a way to disassemble FSX mdl files or isolate parts of it?

Reason behind this: I got 2 ancient paper models of the CAC Boomerang I would like to build. Whilst the exterior models are not too bad, cockpit interior is almost nonexistent and anything but accurate.
Now I got myself the FSX Steam edition and the Flight Replicas Boomerang, in order to have a good look into it. There is a program called Modelconverter X which shows the geometric model of an airplane. Still I canīt take away the outer shell from the cockpit structure to have an uncluttered look into the cockpit.

Anybody knows of a program that could import those files and allow me to temporarily remove undesired parts?

Many thanks in advance!

Cheers, Martin

If you have modelconverterX you can export to Obj, import into Blender and remove parts to your hert's content.
