Tyres & rims

Hi

Been a while. Need some advice. Building a complete model based on our horizontal drills. It includes a truck, trailer, mixing system and drill rig. Want to build tyres and rims, realistic as possible. Any advice / tips please ?

I would reccomend finding a freely downloadable model in the same scale you're building your model and use the wheels and tyres from that, you may have to rescale them to fit, you might not.

I built a series of models designed by Chreiss (Nosports) a few years ago, trucks, trailers, a heavy crane, there were multiple sizes and types of wheels in those, all were free downloads. As Whulsey mentioned, Enrico63 has some very nice wheels on his kits, which are also freely downloadable.

Nobody should have a problem with you using someone elses wheels for your build if it is just a personal build, as long as you give credit where credit is due and aren't trying to pass them off as your own design. If you are planning on releasing the kit for others to build you would then need to gain permission from the designer, or maybe even try approaching a designer to ask for help designing some wheels specifically to suit your models, there is no shortage of friendly, helpful people around here.

Thanks I appreciate. To be honest I don't really use a scale. I've been doing more scratch build models than actual templates, will have to size them as I go. Will post some pictures when I can, need to resize them since my camera takes pictures that are huge
