PDF Flicking
Hello, I´m just have a problem with my PDF files: When do a recolor in Inkscape and save it as PDF, when opening the PDF file it flicks and opens slowly showing all the steps I done in the recolor process. Worse even, there are some reports that my files flicks and dissapear some details. I try by Grouping all elements but unsuccesfully. It´is the Inkscape program? or the problem is with Adobe Reader? Thanks,Tony.

I have that issue with PDFs done on PS6. Cleaning recycle can and restarting outer usually helps, sometimes it turns out I saved large size PDF in wrong location by mistake. Moving it all es issue. I bigger problem is PS6 slowing down for no reason at all at random times. Very frustrating...

Don't know anything about Inkscape. But for Butelcynski. CS6 slow down usually is because of not enough memory. Let photoshop use more memory fixed the slow down for me. Try adjusting photoshop memory usage in "Performance". Purge history will help too because history takes up a lot of memory.

I encountered this problem a while ago, and this is how I stopped it.
Take the pdf's that you create in Inkscape, and import them into Gimp (600dpi), then export them back into a new pdf. PM me if you need more help. Gary

In Inkscape -
instead of saving it as a pdf try printing it to pdf using a printer emulator such as https://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf-reader/ This may well clear the clutter and will retain the vector content. |

Thanks to all for help me, but we keep in trouble. So, the problem is with Adobe or Inkscape, or lack of memory?

I use Maurice's solution for my MirageIII/Kfir and Bruno's Mirage 2000 recolors, except I "print" them them via PDFCreator. That way, I get smaller files (down to 200~250 kb from 600~800 kb) that open much more quickly. The F-16 recolors don't have this bloating issue. That's why the file names for those start with pdfc-, because I created them with PDF Creator and need to distinguish them from the original pdf.
eta: also, Inkscape has an option in the "file" menu to clean up the document. I didn't really notice any improvement when using it but it might help. Inkscape doesn't like importing gradients. Sometimes they won't display at all and you'll just see a thin vertical line in their place. It's better to remove and remake them from scratch. Other times Bruno uses bitmap backgrounds (like those grilles on the Huey engine fairing). Inkscape doesn't play well with them either. Remove and replace as they can contribute to the bloating.

https://stackoverflow.com There are many more that are similar if you do a search. While there are a host of causes, the most common may be Adobe Reader. What happens if you try a different reader? Foxit is good (and free).

Thanks CAFE and Kevin WS, definitely the problem is with Adobe Reader; I even contact them and only solution was to buy Adobe Acrobat. I´ll migrate to Foxit and try. Thank You very much for your help. Tony.
