FGMM - Travel Air, Mystery Ship 1/46

I thought I'd post picture of this little racer before I start the rigging, just in case

I love those Golden Age racers. Looks great, Douglas. Did you use shiny paper or a gloss coating?

Thanks, looks mighty fine! I look forward to seeing the completed airplane. Are you using steel wire or monofililment or what? Questions! Questions!

I am using 24 guage steel wire coated with Future (for corrosion proofing). The model is pretty small so I should have probably used 30 guage and may even do the rest that way. The aircraft looks like it uses two/three different sizes. Or more likely rods and wire.

The plane just screams SHINEY - so I had to make it that way.

The rigging on the real this was airfoil section-it was much thicker looking at it from the side than from the front. To my eye the rigging looks about right looking at it from the side-about the best you can do using round wire.
