FGMM Piper J-3

I really like this plane , so I decided to build it OOP (out of the printer ).

In the beginning it seemed like a smooth build

the fuel tank and cockpit panel fitted in beautifully, but then....

.... disaster stroke

and now I have a nice cockpit view:

The problem is the extra care I should take regarding the center piece of the wing. It seems to be a bit longer than it should. I am working on fixing the mess I created.
Hopefully more pics will follow (I have to work out how to link them properly , too)

Hang in there, I have this model but have not built it yet. Looking forward to seeing you complete it!

Thank you CT, I had to deal with the "convertible situation" today...

I reprinted the center part of the wing , the wind screen and the cockpit side windows. I trimmed the the center part of the wing but still it was not enough.

I had to cut deeper the slots where it fits with the rear part of the fuselage, further trim the front part and extra work with the windshield... I think that the winshield should be slightly longer and the the center part of the wing shorter. It looks like how it should now but I am not that happy.

And that is because untill this point it was a sweet build , straight and easy.
If I was going to do this again I would enter the "Imroved Stock" category , make better wheels, add rigging and most importantly I would add a cardstock strip in the wing. This would make the wing sturdier and easier to work with the trimming and correct fit of the windscreen.
More to follow tomorrow

spirtos, thank you a ton for taking this sweet bird on. It is my first card model and it's been driving me nuts. I had to reprint one of the wings already. The thing I don't understand is about the tabs on the wing where they attach to the fuselage. If I see it right in your photo, they glue to the wing center section and then the whole wing clues to the fuselage? I wish the instructions were better on this one. Looking forward to any and all help you can offer. Your photos have helped a lot. Would you mind if I post a link to this page on Fiddersgreen forum. There has to be others who have had questions the Piper Cub. You are a gold mind. Thank you. wc

Thanks again for the great photos spirtos. New meds for the migraines so I can get back to building. There may be a few more questions about how the WINGS and WING CENTER SECTION comes together if you don't mind. Your a life saver. Something so simple giving me such a pain in the ass. Thanks again. wc

Lost again or is it still. I keep looking at the Center Wing Section and the two Wing Haves. I just don't see it. I cut ot the square for the window in the Center Wing Section and folded the other end under but how does it go together? Is the Center Wing Section folded in halp matching the cross section of the wing or does this section some how stays flat and tuck into the plane? I feel so damn dumb. Thank again. wc
