FGMMx SNJ Texan

Another quickie FG classic. The SNJ Texan (AT-6 Harvard) is a basic FG tube, tail and wing model. Built stock with some (I think acceptable) fiddling to shape the landing gear fairings on the wing inboard leading edge and the tires bulked out with a simple circle of card laminated inside a convenient "hole."

Absolutely wonderful. The first model I ever tried building (plastic) was the Texan. I was eight or nine, and I messed it up (too much cement). But you've inspired me to try it again.

Glad to hear it, Garland. Just be prepared to "cut outside the lines" to fit the wheel fairings. They are part of the upper wing surface but must be freed to stay flat and not follow the wing's camber. You'll have to get a bit beyond the instructions - should be fun!

Thanks for the advice regarding the wheel fairings. This is another favorite airplane that I am glad to see as a Yogibild. Between these excellent FG builds and Roman's recent issues of Navy 1930s yellowings, I may end up beguiled away from my current spate of WWI and early interwar military vehiles.

Thanks for the info on the wheel fairings. I'll keep that in mind.
