You know me Ash............. I've got nothing against the Phantom........but I LOVE to stir the pot.
 Some reasons the Phantom won out over the Super Crusader was it (The Pantom)had an extra crewman........ Navy wanted 2 on board........... It had two engines........... Navy wanted 2 on board........... and it DIDN'T have a gun.........later the Navy WAS wanting 2 on board!  Oh........ they also wanted a plane that smoked.....  john
