Subscribe to forum but not sub forums

Is there a way to subscribe to a forum and get weekly email updates, but without seeing all the activity in all the subforums?

For example, I subscribe to "Found it on the Internet", but don't care to see all the posts in the sub forum "In Other News".

Unsubscribe to "Found it on the Internet", then just subscribe to the particular sub forum your interested in.

Unfortunately, it's the opposite I want to do. I want the parent forum, but not all the sub forums, but subscribing to the parent gives me the sub-forums whether I want them or not. Would subscribing to one of the sub-forums give me the parent too? I guess I'll try that and see what happens.

I think you will have to subscribe to each individual sub forum you want.
