I'm all for making the scale a required field for new uploads .Stuff already stored can be edited whenever.
Thanks Isaac

Required as in a custom scripted add on to the download section, or just have everyone who uploads add the scale?

I get Ray's point, but I think its a reasonable request to ask that the title (or description) include 1/33, 1/72, 1/200 etc
In the same way every model at ecardmodels has to have the scale first in the product title Ray. Its one of the most basic things when you are looking at models (including freebies). It could save the downloader a lot of time, and the site a lot of bandwidth/data transfer, to know the scale before you grab a model.

So a custom script, which may or may not cost money, for a feature only one forum online would make use of, whereas just asking uploaders to be mindful and add the scale would be much simpler and free.
If you want us to pay for it, I guess I can start wrapping pennies.....

no script...just make it a guideline
"add the scale in your title when you submit a model" "and if you can edit your existing model title to include the scale, that would help too"

I see your point Dave. A valid one for sure.
However, at Ecardmodels, that is something required of the staff as we list kits. For a free download here, it is up to the designer to give that information. It is not a requirement to be added for someone offering something for free. And requiring specific information to upload a file, is ridiculous to request that of someone offering their work for free.

Lets put a reminder for the uploader to enter the scale. Can we agree on at least that?
Isaac

I would agree under the condition that 'scale unknown' be an option as... that's what a lot of models in the download section are. Nothing against the idea itself, but should be on a voluntary basis.
