I like the idea of a vote, but someone would still have to nominate choices. Or perhaps members could PM their choices as well to be added to the poll?

I could not agree more. I hate having to choose as there are so many great pictures and subjects so the voting sounds like a great idea.

Please don't ask for suggestions if you will not follow them.

I think nominations and votes could be the same thing.

If no one knew what the stats were, then every vote would be a nomination of sorts.
So, it wouldn't be a poll really. I think polls would ruin the fun of a POTW, because you could always see what's winning.

Though, I guess this would need some sort of implementation.
It could be as simple as everyone PM'ing an admin or something.

Organizing the POTW is harder then it seems since while you would like to have suggestions, you also do not want people to expect to see a picture they voted for. While is why I decided to surprise everyone with the Falcon. No one was expecting it, and it a free model that anyone can download and build.

I worry that with voting the picture of the week will no longer be a surprise, so nomination might work out best. That way no one will know which pictures have been nominated and we can always throw a curve ball to keep everyone guessing.

You may be right Jason, every picture I see here is worthy of POTW. I cannot imagine having to choose...I would probably have a new pic each day.
Keep up the good work!:D
