Just Found My Perfect Glue...for now
it's called Bostik Art Glue
some of its "unusual characteristics" are: 1. looks like PVA base although i can't confirm because it's not indicated; 2. it has a "toothpaste like" consistency, which i think is great for small parts; 3. very fast bond time (i mean it, spread it thin and we're talking about seconds); 4. water soluble...??? (i'm still experimenting); all in all, i think this is great for gluing detail parts (cockpit, engines, etc), definitely not for laminating whole sheets.

Bostik also sells a wood & paper glue which I have not tried.
See: Wood 'n Paper | Art & Craft | Products | Bostik BOSTIK WOOD ‘N PAPER is a high quality, solvent-free polyvinyl acetate based adhesive ideal for gluing wood and paper materials. It is fast setting, dries clear and bonds stronger than wood and is both non-toxic and non-flammable. |

Oh, that looks interesting...I will have to try some!
.................................................. .................. I like your title for this thread!...gives me the impression that this might be a "Glue" review thread? I hope so...because heres my two cents: Obviously every area (around the World) has access to different glues. I know that here, in North America, Aleenes Tacky Glues are well received. I have seen them often advertised on British Craft sites too! Aleene's Tacky Glues are what I use... I do use Contact cements for certain jobs, 3M spray Adhesive (Contact cement again) and I'd like to try more CyanoAcrylates (Krazy Glue), but for most of my paper modeling needs I use four types of Aleenes Tacky Glue. For the price (largest containers at the cheapest prices!) you can't beat it. And it works! really well in fact. I use the "Quick Dry" for most work. ...its about the same consistency as the "Original tacky Glue" but is tacky enough to hold parts in place quickly and dries very quickly too. "Original" is much like White (PVA) Glues found elsewhere, it just seems like a better quality glue. A little thicker than the average white paper glue. "Fast Grab" is extra tacky, to help hold parts together quick. ...but I find it a little too thick and sticky and harder to use than the "Quick Dry", and doesn't dry any quicker. And finally I have the "Clear Gel Tacky Glue" which seems to have the same properties as the "Original Tacky Glue", only completely clear. ...I haven't really found a purpose for this glue yet, and use it rarely. It doesn't work for plastics, so its no good for windows, canopies, etc...but maybe locations where you have to glue on the outside of a part? in a very visible spot?
