Purchased apps used in design

I would like to build a list of all the purchased applications that you use in designing in any way, shape or form

Please include a link if at all possible. Please also say what you use it for, like if you use it for the design, coloring, unfolding etc etc etc
Thanks!
Chris

Re: Purchased apps used in design

I use only two apps:
- "Siatki v. 4.0.5" (eng. Nets) - form page: "allows unfolding of 25 different standard objects, plus, by using the Creators, can unfold objects limited by two flat surfaces (any shape and placement). Siatki software can also unfold toroids. Surfaces can be defined by the user or imported as DXF files. Software allows also to insert panel lines on the created skins."
- CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 11
And how I designed my first "adult" model - SPAD VII using two apps - only in Polish :/
My english is wrong - I don't try translate it - sorry.
It's all Folks

i have been using paint shop pro8 for textures. (8 isnt supported anymore and i dont reccomend the lattest.)

i will be switching to corel draw 12 for textures.- http://apps.corel.com/lp/other/5590/index1u.html

from what i hear gimp is an extremely good program. have never used it myself but have seen results with it. Sjsquirrel uses gimp on the battlestar ships he does.

Re: Purchased apps used in design

I use Pepakura v.2 for unfolding. Given that I am moving to Linux I wont purchase v.3 because I don't know if it works.

Chris, Gimp is free and let you gain great results. There are many tutorials and plug-in for it. But of course you can lurk from Photoshop tuts.
