I will put little dabs of glue on the edges of the female hinge were the wire slides through and paper is bent,.. the little bump of glue will look like the head of the pin that slides through

step one can go either way,..
i havent found a difference with which way you start to fold or roll here are 2 ways you can start with the folding process of the female part |

step 2
is really a way to just start working the loops to get them into the shape they need to be for this style of hinge |

as you build the female shape to this stage you will have to now start working on the male shape to to get it up to this step (remember that the fold for the male is in the reverse so work opposite)

the reason for this is that before you glue the part on to it self you will have to make sure the clearance tolerance is acceptable to allow smooth movement

glue one part at a time
glue male part first like this explanation,.. so that when you glue female part you can fine tune for clearance here is female part instruction |

trouble shooting tip #1
your loops might not be perfectly round which will create a light tension or snag in the smooth operation ,.. just gently fold the hinge once its glued and use flat side of x-acto blade and burnish loop unto the metal wire this will round out loop even more,.. fold in opposite direction and do the same thing on other side

trouble shoot tip #2
if you man-handle the folding or rolling and the loop,.. it may start to frey (like my first attempts did) put a slight dab of glue on the freyed part of the loop (wiping away excess glue carefully) then repeat the trouble shooting tip #1 burnish technique,..
