Does you Paper Model contain Materials other than Paper?

Although we're making Paper Models, but my Paper Models got not only Paper but also some other Materials. I can only say: I use a lot of paper on this model.

Paper models need glue or tape to connect the parts, so here glue or tape are not "not-paper" materials.

I make paper model cars with lamps, so it's nessessary to put battery, copper wires, PCB boards, LED, even fiber light in it. But these are functional materials。

Constructional materials need "not-paper" materials such as cardboard(play cards), metal, bamboo, wood, plastic. Although the 3D model got no problem theoretically, however, the tension of paper and the gravity may let the models be out of shape, then the paper craft will not be like the 3D model.

And the "suspension"s of the paper model cars also need metal springs.

Do you also use "not-paper" materials in you paper models?

Yup. pins ,cocktail sticks, straws ( they're all made of plastic these days),sewing cotton, thin string, nylon fishing line, electrical wire insulation, and wire of course. Not all in the same model or all at the same time of course lol.

Same here, styrofoam wheels, wooden wheels, cockpits from shrinking-wrap,toothpicks,bolts and nuts for counterweight..
there was a discussion in another thread, and maybe there should be some categories when you enter a show or a competition, but anywhere else, go as far as your imagination stretches

Guilty as charged, All you have to do, is check out my build threads and you will see the mixed media that I use to build a model. Sometimes paper will not, or will refuse to be molded or shaped into the form you want. Very rarely do I use plastic but wood and wire are the two most used other mediums in my builds.

Yep. Metal, plastic, wood, etc. whenever a more substantial component is needed or a more easily formed material is needed to form a component. The vast majority of the parts are always paper of some sort, though. Sometimes the other material is skinned with paper so just the paper shows in the final product.

Since I usually have a couple of plastic and a couple of paper models on the desk, its whatever I can grab that will work for what I'm trying to do.

depends on my mood. sometimes for a conversation piece, I insist on only paper. I will do this sometimes with ships and rigging, cutting "rope ridiclously thin to make the rigging. Other times I will build with "household items only" meaning it has to be something in the junk drawers of the kitchen. I use uncooked spaghetti/pasta a lot on those models for piping, small smokestacks, and other small diameter cylinders. Lately I've expanded that to "free stuff" from stores, including chopsticks and the wood stirrers from the coffee shop. An all out build will also include stuff from the $1 store, the $1 store is great for all kinds of bling for ships including chain, and earring loops

unless its the paper model, [dont count the ink] glued with rice slime, or white out
you can forget about the devout only paper standard
there might be some kind of glue made from trees,
does pitch count, its not paper.......
i know in japan they use rice slime as glue.
