math question regarding scales
I'm dyslexic and it affects my spelling and maths I have no maths logic whatsoever and can just about grasp basic arithmetic.
I have two questions I want to have a go at designing some models and I want to know by what percentage to reduce original measurements down to get 1:25 scale. Also I have a model railway wagon that is 00/HO scale, that I'd like to model to 1:25. If anyone can give me a simple process I can use the calculator to get the right measurements that would be great. I will probably draw the models in sketch up as I'm familiar with it. While am asking you want to build Enrico's railgun which is in 1:35 scale by what percentage do I increase the PDF file to make it 1:25 scale. Thanks for any help you can give this math numpty.

Try this:
Scale Calculator :: ZarkovModels Paper Model Store (To reduce from original measurements to 1/25 scale you can also just divide by 25) |

35/25 x 100 = 140% Good Luck ! |

Basically you divide the scale you have by the scale you want.
You have a 1:35 scale model and you want to convert it to a 1:25 scale model. 1:35 to 1:25 35(what you have) divided by 25(what you want) = 1.4 To get the percentage multiply the result by 100 1.4 x 100 = 140 so that would be 140%. You would increase the 1:35 scale model by 140% to get a 1:25 scale model. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ HO is usually around a 1:87 scale. 87(what you have) divided by 25(what you want) = 3.48 3.48 x 100 = 348 Increase the HO scale model by 348% to get a 1:25 scale model. -------------------------------------------------------------------- You will have to make sure the parts will fit onto the maximum size page you can print when you increase the size.
