That wing is very realistic Paul. Got the irregular surface that I think an in-service aircraft would have had. Would love to see you do an entire plane like that.

I have been trying to keep up with this thread, but I may have missed something. Has anyone here tried using the aluminum tape made for duct work? It is pure, dead soft aluminum with a very sticky back. I have had success with embossing it. I bet it will form nicely too.

@ Elliott - Thanks I actually think the same, and yes I guess I will finish the entire model
@ Ken - Yes, in the search for a good aluminium I saw this tape its almost the same thickness and the best of all it already have glue on it, I will try the other wing with this duct tape.

Works pretty well for me. I like to scour it lightly with very fine steel wool, and adhere it to 20lb copy paper. It can be unforgiving - you'll want to make sure your work surface is nice and clean or else every little little bump and bit will leave a reminder - but with a little care it will yield a nice result.

I'm a little disappointed with the engine hood here: I made the mistake of edge-coloring the paper backing of the aluminum parts a medium grey and it really shows. Uncolored white paper edges produce less noticeable seams, as you can see on the cheeks.

Fantastic model Eric, very beautifull, how did you do with the curved shapes of the engine cover?

Well I have done a test with the aluminium tape and yes, the finished its very good, in my opinion this is the best technique for a real aluminium, I will do the rest of the model with this tape.

regards
