One question for ship builders
When you frame the the hulls what type and weight of card do you use?

I build 1/200-1/350 models that generally come out 2-3 foot long (75-100 cm).
for hull formers and decks I use light cardboard that comes from the backs of note pads. This is convenient for me as we use a lot of them at my work. I usually use spray adhesive to bond the paper to the cardboard. If you are using a downloaded model, you can print the formers that won't be seen on regular copy paper and save on the more expensive card stock. The spray glue will darken the copy paper so use card stock for the decks. If you use this method glue a piece of copy paper to the back side so it lays flat.

Good idea for a source of cardboard!
