Hole punch

Hi folks, after surfing, searching and asking about I'd thought I would ask the community. Is there a paper punch out there that will punch a hole 0.5 - 1.0 mm? What I am looking for is two fold, to actually punch holes and the other is to make "rivets" with the output.

Thanks

do a search for a Japanese Book Drill,
it will cost a fair bit, but it is a quality tool, and the original bits are super sharp

I had to buy replacement bits recently, and I found them at Talas, a book binding supply company in Brooklyn New York

the smallest size is 1mm, but they up in .5 mm to 5mm
I am not sure if a .5mm bit exists

Or get a leather punch. That is what I use, easy to do and the "chad" travels the length of the punch to the center of the punch, mine has a plastic cap that hold them in until I open and dump them.

Smile hole punch

Go to AliExpress and search for mico punch set. It comes from China but for what we do it work fine. Sizes start at .5 mm set is .5-.8-1.0-1.2-1.5-1.8-
2.0-2.5-3.0-3.5-4.0-4.5 and 5.0. You may have to wait about a month for shipping. I think price was around 20.00US They also had other sizes too.

a caution with the micro punch from china, if the tap set jeffball was referring to is the type you have to hit with a hammer the chad part will be small enough but the hole because of the outside taper will be larger than the stated size.

Hole punch

Hi,
Look at the hungarian RP TOOLS website . I have bought one of their punch-and-die set for holes until 2mm of diameter about three years ago . They are made with good quality materials, are affordable and mine works well.
Sincerily yours

Was thinking with it being paper I could just set in place and give slight twist with hand push down lightly

The outside is tapered but I have found that if you bunish the backside the hole seems to go back to size. Also I haven't had to try it on thicker card just copy paper and up to .2mm card.

For really small holes and rivets I use a large gauge hypodermic needle from a printer ink refill kit. similar to this. https://www.amazon.com/Duda-Energy-S.../dp/B00DXPRTHG
These can be sharpened with a file and sand paper by chucking up in a drill
You can poke the little paper disk out of the needle using a piece of wire.
