HO-scale buildings
This is a pair of my recent experiments. The scale is HO - 1:87. Both started with photos from the Internet. Each took about one evening to complete, plus a few minutes on Photoshop Elements®. Both will find places on my HO-scale train layout.
Ruined Tailor Shop - 2-5/8" x 4-1/4" (65x118 mm): The collapsed wall is built up of a half dozen layers of 1-mm and 0.5 mm card with images from the original photo, and edges colored with artists' watercolor pencils. It also includes stripwood dyed with Hunterline Weathering Mix. The small window has a couple layers of 1mm card to give the impression of depth. MacKinnon Beverage Co. - 3.25 x 3.75 in. (85 x 90 mm): The original photo is on the right. The arched entrance and pile of crates and pallets is built up of several layers of 0.5 and 1.0 mm card, and 65# cardstock. The wall and windows are from Clever Models' Small Brick Workshop (P/N S56). The name honors the bagpiper (and home-brewer) who piped at my wedding a long, long time ago.

How much of your train layout is done in card?

Most of it. I've posted photos of some of my other structures on this forum.
