New forming tool

Here are some pictures of a neat forming tool I had run off at the machine shop next door from work.

Basically it's a rolling pin for forming section of a soft block, with a precision ground pointy end for rolling conic sections and a blunt end for forming bulgey things. It's 1/4 in diameter, 8 inches long (6.35 X 200mm) 303 Stainless Steel. The stainless wont mark the paper, and the transitions from round to point are soft, so it won't leave creases.

I'm thinking of having a short run of these made, so if anyone is interested, drop me a PM.

Even better, I just handed over a drawing and took delivery later<g>

I suppose you could use it as a marlinspike, although I'd want a handle. Can't be a fid, as it's not hollow. I did exactly one five in hand splice before deciding that nicopress tool are nice<G>

Started cutting metal on the first 'production' batch of "RollyStyks"*. Looks like the price is going to be USD 6.95 + post. Weight each is approx 2oz / 55g so US post should be around $2, and EU post $3.

Paypal to [email protected] with address and such and I'll start getting them out as soon as I can

*tm maybe eventually

On the way from me, too. I look forward to getting through the current busy period and back to model building with this excellent tool. Best wishes for many sales, Mark!
