Curt
this is true, I did not consider laser printing
(since I am a diehard inkjet man, I lack the knowledge related to laser print)

Ah, laser printing... for a while I was at a job that gave me access to a nice color laser printer, and I put about two whole reams of good card stock through it before actually trying to build one of the models, and having it flake away under my knife.

I've heard that sealing the paper with varnish or acrylic could help seal the laser toner down so it won't flake as much, but I haven't tried it myself yet.

I think the printer I used was a laserjet...but again, it's been nearly a year. You can see examples of the creased/folded phenomenon I'm encountering in my Optimus Prime thread in I Found It On The Internet.

Judging by the apparent glossiness of the printed areas compared to the non-printed areas, to me it seems likely that you printed it on a laserjet - which makes the cracking and/or flaking at scoring lines all the more understandable.

Probably too late to start over, and you wouldn't want to change from laser to inkjet or to start using a coating mid-build. Oh well, live and learn. Either way, the build looks pretty good, so do keep going!

I've seen some completed kits of what I'm building and like those, I might apply my own paint touch up/custom scheme to the project. Thank you everyone for contributing to this topic!
