Dave, I publicly apologise for taking you to task over the box of cat chew toys. I have since gotten over myself.

Hmm, I didn't see your name in that rant... but if he did, then he's an idiot for bashing on someone who is clearly well-intentioned in trying to help him out.

Edit: Yep, I see it now. My bad. Bully? really? As I think I said before, of all the responses he was getting, I thought yours were the least bullying, and most helpful. Oh well, his loss.

Lets get something straight here...
I wasn't laughing at a bully at all.
The way I read it Dave did not say any negative to you at all.
In fact, quite the opposite - He probably gave the most helpful tips out there to try to help you understand his technique. Certainly not being a Bully in my book

If you want to be upset with anyone here then be upset with me. So, if you want to block me - then go ahead and block me - I have thick skin and can take it.

Sometimes it is very difficult to tell whether people are genuinely unable to understand or whether they are deliberately not understanding in order to see what results.

Hi,

I don't know if you managed to do this, but if not, then just use hard paper.. its a technique, the creates very stiff paper.. all beit its a bit thicker than normal paper..

1. take an A4 piece of paper, and cover the entire surface in a thin coat of PVA glue.
2. Place a second piece of paper over the top and press down firmly. Make sure you remove any air holes
3. turn the pieces of paper over, and repeat step 1 & 2
4. repeat step 3

you should now have 4 pieces of paper, glued together, Place them under a heavy object *book, or something) over night..

the following morning, you will have an extremely stiff piece of paper.

Hope that helps

I usually just brush some Minwax wood hardener on the back of the sheet. I prefer the wood hardener to CA glue, because it doesn't stick to my fingers if I get a little on them.

I go out on the back porch, because this stuff is too volatile and nasty to use indoors. Lay down a sheet of wax paper, and attach it to the metal table with magnets. Put the printed sheet face down on the wax paper. I pour a very small amount of the wood hardener into a disposable container -- a paper cup is ideal. Using a wide brush that I don't care much about, I brush the hardener on the back of the paper.

The magnets are there because I leave it to dry overnight, and I don't want it to blow away.

The one time I tried brushing wood hardener onto the printed surface, it was a printout from Kinko's, and the waxy toner just dissolved and smeared everywhere.

It sounds to me like your project may need stiffened (sized) paper before you start cutting it out. Google "sizing paper" and you'll find lots of alternatives to CA stiffened paper. In the "old days" good old AERO DOPE was used, but you can also use a product called DEFT. Pre-shrink your paper, coat with deft/dope, let dry and then print on it. Even water-based clear acrylics can be used to size paper. Best to avoid the CA thing altogether if you can and it really is just for small parts. Good Luck!
