Help tracks

I am relatively new to the hobby. I would like to start building papr tanks (I have a couple of GPM models) but I have a big problem. I do not know how to cut and assemble the tank tracks. Could anyone explain to me how to do it? Thank you

Card model tracks tend to come in two types:

Band and individual links. Sometimes the kit will have both.

The band type are the most simple to assemble. Generally they have two halves (inner and outer) than need cutting out and glueing together. Care needs to be taken lining them up.

Sometimes there are grouser bars that are attached to the outer layer and also teeth that are on the inner layer

The most complicated and certainly time consuming are the individual link type. These again range from a simple one-piece link that gets folded in on itself to multi-piece structures.

I find other peoples build of the same models a great help.

Also let us know the model you are building. I'm sure we can help

Tim

Tanks can have either band tracks, individual link tracks or the option of both. No two tank tracks are designed the same way either. If you could supply a picture of the tracks in questions or at least a specific GPM kit you plan on building, you may get a better answer.

If you are new to tanks, I would recommend building those with band tracks first to gain experience.

Regards,

greg

Send a message via ICQ to Johnny
You can also buy lasercutted tracks for a big variety of models. Then you get rid of all the cutting
(for lazy peoples like me)

Agreed. Being efficient is not the same as being lazy. Johnny is efficient!
