Motorboats/Full Hull
Is this one that stymies you ?
Don't let it . I have found that if I spray the model with Clear Flat craft spray Before assembling .You will get better results . Where you have a planing hull ,shape your sections with a spoon and a very light spritz of water .When the curve sets, spray it . Cut it out and mount it on the model . One thing that will always help you is this .When doing the planing hull type of design Use strips for the bottom that run from the keel to the chine ( hard edge of the hull ) . By doing this you can create those wonderful compound curves at the bow . There is another part to this trick though .The main sides of the hull ( from chine to deck ) Has to already be mounted to your frames . No I am not dilerous .You have to use an underlayment to ensure proper hull curves and at top ( Deck ) and bottom( Chine ) Cement this to the underlayment . This will give you the ridigity you need .Don't forget though those little ears you've folded over . These are needed . This ,at the keel , and chine will allow a complete and smooth planking .Let set in it's cradle for a day or two and spray again then paint the color of your choice ( if it's not already colored .) That's it . Papersurprise 50 |
