Accelerating Glue Drying
Is there a way to accelerate glue drying? I'm looking for a way to attach parts that are somewhat hard to hold in place long enough for the glue to dry. Many thanks in advance!

well a hot air gun tends to blow the model parts away
I tend to use different types of glue. Aleene's besides their regular tacky glue (PVC) they have both fast grab versions and Quickdry. |

Use the Microwave
Try microwaving it long enough to make the glue extremely tacky. Tack it together and microwave it till the glue sets. No metal should be in the model naturally.

I have a table lamp that I sometimes set parts on top of and let the heat warm them, I have a 2" wide piece of aluminum 1/16" thick and about 8" long I set across the lamp shade top and set parts on that.....Rich

Use Aleen's tacky glue.
After application, scrape with the edge of a knife so that the glue layer is very thin. It will grab and set fast. |

+1. If I need a quick bond, Aleen's has never let me down.

Oh he can be.
PVA for example dries with the evaporation of it's water content. Getting the timing right is the main difficulty. Don't expect He'd take the blame for any stuff ups though. |

I already use Aleene's turbo tacky glue but I never tried applying a thin layer... I will definitely try it!

Aleenes' Turbo Tacky Glue.
I turn all cardstock scrap into glue applicator strips and always apply a thin layer. Set time averages 3-4 seconds.
