What a great tip. 40 years of using them between paper modeling and graphic arts and had never heard of that. Thanks for posting this.

Wondering about this, I went playing on Google. Having known quilters I looked for quilting sources.
Question - is this true for mats other than Olfa brand? That info I haven't found.

I'll let you know if it works for other brands. I still use the old cutting come mouse mats (used to grab them as they popped up at work)!

Well, who knew? I sure didn't. Wondered why my "self-healing" mats weren't so self-healing. Great tip Rick and John. Thanks!

Reconstituted cutting mats. I'm thinking you want to use plain water for this

Errrr. You make paper pyramid's to put the blades under to make them sharp.......

You can then use the sharp blades to cut more pyramids out to sharpen more blades. More sharp blades mean more pyramids and more pyramids mean yet sharper blades.......

Kevin WS , Is possible to that it is the truth?
Physics is one, and the paper is super destructive material for the blade.
The truth is, we use only 2mm edge blades , only grotto
