textured papers for architectural models

micro mark sells textured papers in different scales
but i amm looking for a source to download
rock/hill landscape
water/waterfall features
does anyone know of a source
i am planning to make a japanese garden
and would like some help on others experiences
previously i used "life-like"
and "woodland scenics"
but these can get expensive very quickly
and they really don't work well with paper
the other way is just printing a flat picture front and back
this is ok
but im looking for more realism
and wood models
are way too expensive

To my knowledge there is no textured papers that you can download. You will always just get a flat picture. you will need to do the "texturing" by embossing the paper with ball stylus or other tools. To get that realistic 3D effect, you have to manually do it.

Dear billinds:
Seems Like years ago we did a search for Texture then the type and got lots of pictures. We had a thread about water. Do not see that looking for other scenic textures should yield something that you could use with layering and embossing.

Is there confusion over what "textures" actually means?

Generally, when you read "textured" papers, it means printed sheets that resemble 3D reallife textures.
Textures being the realistic surface image.
For example: a brick wall, a shingled roof, a metal panel, etc

In 3D modeling (CGI), a structure is built and then a "texture" is applied. A skin.
Skins or textures often use photographic images of surfaces.

As Johnny has shown, if you search for textures, you get images that can be used as surface fills.

Texture libraries abound.
There are so many now on the internet.
Some are better than others.
Some require you to register as a member.
Some limit how much you can download for free.

Search textures by their topic on google, or wherever.
Search for "texture library" and you'll find websites devoted to printable textures.

I get that Textured paper can be taken to mean paper with a 3D design embossed into it, but referring back to post #1 ... Billinds said "but i amm looking for a source to download"

Pretty difficult to download embossed paper methinks, so I assumed he/she was looking for 2D texture prints, which as I demonstrated are prolifically available by simply googling for them.
