Liking the new,new green Mystery Machine. I just thought you had decided on yellow for a better colour contrast, and to keep it different than the cartoon version - being your Koolwheelz version.
Anyway, will build this one after class is finished.

haha I'll get right on that.

gotham...no, I never actually picked the colours.
I sampled colours out of a cartoon cel rather than reuse the colours from my first MM model.
I settled on something that looked okay to me, and matched the cartoon
...but that was partly my colour blindness.

When I printed it, I thought it looked off.
It looked like yellow-orange to me but I know its supposed to be green.
I just assumed my printer has saturated the colour, and my colour blindness is messing me up.

oh well....

are we ready for a quick step?

Lets put some Bumpers on the Body?....

Separate out the front and rear Bumpers.
Don't mix them up, they are a little different.
(And yours are a bit longer than mine)

You should have already scored the end folds.
if you haven't...why not?

So, go ahead and cut out the bumpers using your Hobby Knife and/or Scissors.
You can also edge colour the parts.

...
Using your flat Tweezers or folding implement,
bend the ends of each Bumper at the score lines.

Bend them to (90 degree) right angles.

...
Now cut out the "spacer strips".
These will mount behind the Bumpers and give a bit of 3D effect to the model
by spacing the Bumpers away from the Body.

...
Glue the spacer strips to the backsides of the Bumpers.
Try to center the strips as best you can.

...
Now test fit the Bumpers to the Body so you understand their positions.
Make sure not to confuse the front and rear Bumpers!
Then glue it into place with a little glue across the spacer strips.

As I said, your Bumpers are a bit longer than my prototypes (shown)
and the ends should wrap around the Body a bit further.

....
If you guys get caught up and want to continue with more build today,
I can post another Step after Supper.
Just let me know how you are all getting along.

.......

Now that you've changed the download, our blue and yellow models will become fabulously valuable rare collectibles!

Speaking only for myself, I'm ready for the next lesson.

I was thinking along the same lines! haha
Only those who took part in this Tuturial, got the special "alternate cover" variant!

Anne...you got the Bumpers on already?!
You are fast now.
You should get a job building things!

BTW, Dave, have you heard of the EnChroma glasses that alleviate color blindness? Go check their website if you're interested.

At 55 years old, I have probably come to grips with my colour blindness.

I would love to try a pair of those glasses, just to see the effect.
But, at $400USD...thats more than $500CAD....

I took their Colour test: EnChroma: Color Blindness Test | EnChroma
I have taken many of these colour tests before
but this one really made me laugh.

They seem to be having trouble identifying my species?

Oi ... Slow down, I ain't got both the sides on yet!

Speaking of exclusive designs ... When this thread first started up I thought I'd better sneak in sharpish to archive the old version, but Dave beat me to it by replacing it with the new design before I got there. Being one of the few Koolwheelz models that I was never likely to build, it wasn't already in the archive. Honest folks, I don't archive everything. Only the ones that interest me enough that I may build one day ... if I live long enough.
