I just bought a hi tech paper laminating device at a remainder store.
I think it will also be useful for making sugar cookies.

I do not like these technological gadgets
so modern. They usually come with thick
instruction manual.

Not really.
There is a thin sleeve of silicone over a hard cylinder. This gives it traction when rolled over a paper/glue/paper sandwich, but no appreciable softness if you hit your head with it.
