Converting Waterline hulls to Full Hull...

Happy Holidays!

Here's an off the wall query; is it possible to 'convert', or extend the Hull of a Waterline model to make it a 'complete' Hull?

I presume a 'skeleton' of the full hull would need to be made, with formers & ribs to make the basic shape, then filling in the spaces with horizontal strips...

Thanks for looking!

Alan

Dear Viper :
It has been done requires lots of drafting to match sizes and finding drawings to work from is also a problem. There are some ship kits out there with both options in the model.

Here ( Lightship Ambrose - Digital Navy 1:250 scale ) there is a good example, by the Master Michael Mash, how to put a full hull on a waterline model.
It is better to find a good drawing before starting, but the result could be astounding ( see another masterpiece of Mash: French Battleship Jauréguiberry / 1:250 ).

I hope this could be useful.
Best, Nando
