My workdesk recently collapsed under the combined weight of my lifetime's collection of hobby tools. The mangled body of the mouse I found amidst the wreckage must have been the final straw...

Thanks for the comments guys.
But please don't get the impression that I'm always this neat and tidy. Believe me I'm not, just that I've been temporarily relocated to the dinning room table due to some plumbing issues in my basement work space. Had to rip out a section of ceiling drywall to gain access to a leaking sewer pipe.

Hopefully I'll have everything patched up and can move back in shortly.
In the mean time I'll go through my stuff and pick another tool to showcase here in the near future.

Hello, I think I'll join in and share one of my favorite paper modeling tools.

These have been a **big** help for when I glue parts together — especially small parts.

I suppose these can also be used for hair clips, but they are most helpful for papercraft work. ;-)

Tool Time-hair_clips_for_papercraft.jpg

Unlike other hair clips, these are (mostly) flat. The clamp tension is very good, and they hold well. Also notice the groove down the middle to help glue evaporate. In short, I recommend these highly!

I bought these specific clips from a particular well-known online store which begins with the letter "A" (hint: they also sell e-books and readers which "Kindle" the imagination.)

Cheers!

Have you modified any of the clips, cut a square nose to any of them?
or clipped the nose off so you can slide the tab/part between the prongs?

You are the second member to suggest hair clips, I guess I will need to hit amazon for this tool

Rickstef, I haven't altered the clips at all.

I don't quite follow what you mean, but the manufacturer also makes this type of clip in a "double prong" version (without the front flat part,) and lets two small prongs stick out.

I really like the single prong version which has the front flat part — it's like having a team of tiny elves hold your model together while it dries. :-)

Cheers!

My boss once told me that a cluttered desk is a sign of a cluttered mind. I just replied "What does an empty desk signify?"

Here are two useful tools I depend on: flat surfaced locking pinchers. The small one is a "Webster needle holder 4.75"" and the larger one is a "Tube Occluding Clamp Smooth Jaws". Each is $4 and change at Surgical123.com.
